If you are trying to be intentional with your prayer life, been longing for a relationship with God, or want to stay consistent in praying circles around your loved ones, your hopes, and your dreams--this is the perfect tool for that.
When I start my day with prayer, I’m able to see God's hand in everything I do. I’m better able to put the needs of others above my own. And I can feel the difference—less anxiety, more gratitude. Less worry, more intentional prayer.
Prayer is one of the most powerful tools we have. Prayer is the ability to engage in a conversation with God--the one who is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-love cares so deeply about YOU. Your thoughts. Your fears. Your dreams. Your hopes. Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in life's fears and anxieties that we forget this life-changing truth: God always has open ears for those that He loves. And guess who He loves? YOU!
For me, prayer is the pathway to peace. Prayer is recognizing that I am not the one who is in control and placing my fears, dreams, hopes, and loved ones in the hand of the one who IS in control. It's so freeing to experience that type of surrender.
As someone who is incredibly busy (and who has ADHD), sometimes it has hard for me to be as intentional with my prayer life as I'd like to be.
I make prayer a priority by making it an intentional habit.
For some people, prayer might come easily--but for me it just doesn't. I have to make the active choice to remember to pray. But, I make prayer a priority by making it an intentional habit. Every day before I start my day, I take time to sit in my journal and pray. Taking the time to write down my prayers and making the time to sit and pray are intentional actions that make prayer a rhythm of my life.
Having my loved ones written down by names helps me to be intentional to cover them in prayer every day. Having my dreams written down gives me the boldness to believe that God is capable of amazing things, and has placed these dreams in my heart for a reason. And having a scripture written down to focus on each months helps me to be intentional to work to reflect the goodness of God to the people around me.
I absolutely love my Prayer Journal and have been using it for two years now. It's helped me to be intentional about daily praying for my husband, my family, my friends, hopes, dreams, community, and world.
At the beginning of every month I reach out to my family and friends to ask them how I can be praying for them--writing down their requests in my journal helps me to stay intentional about consistently covering the people I love in prayer.
One of my favorite parts of my journal is the section for every month called 'God Answers.' Here I write down all of the ways I saw God answer prayers each month. It builds my faith so much to see how deeply He cares for us, and how He truly listens to our prayers.
You don't need a fancy journal or anything extra to have God's attention--you ALWAYS do. This is just a tool that is very helpful for me to be intentional about taking the time to pray every day.
