Budget Friendly Bathroom Reno

When we first bought our home in August, we painted every room before we moved in--with the exception of the bathrooms. We knew that there were a lot of cosmetic things we wanted to change (mirror, lighting, hardware, etc) and figured it would be best to wait to paint until we had all that we wanted to redo the guest bathroom.

The transformation shown here is, for the lack of a better word, insane. It really is crazy what a little bit of paint and some decor can do. There were only 10 simple steps from the "before" to the "after"...

1. Replace the old shower rod for a new, matte black one,

2. Replace the shower curtain hooks with cheap, matte black ones,

3. Paint (we used Sherwin Williams' rendition of: Behr Herritage Park)

4. Switch out the mirror,

5. Switch out the light fixture,

6. Spray paint the existing vanity hardware matte black,

7. Switch out the shower curtain,

8. Add floating shelves,

9. Update the hardware,

10. Style the shelving.

And voila....it looks brand-stikin'-new!

We are not professionals by any stretch of the imagination, and we never even had any prior experience renovating before starting to work on our home. I share this to say: you really can do this! All it takes is a little bit a time, a whole lot of patience, and a willingness to learn, mess up, and learn some more!

Here is all we needed to complete our bathroom project...
